Performance Management Target for Middle Leaders
This appraisal objective is an example of one that might be used for a Head of Department who is looking to develop their skill in holding their department colleagues to account for progress and outcomes. The objective describes how the leader will be assessed, what support they will provided with, and how progress will be measured. This is a learning objective rather than a performance target but it does contain the methodology to measure performance since it links to the pupils who are underachieving. It contains regular feedback and review and should present a sufficient challenge to the leader to keep them motivated to meet the objective without being too hard to achieve.
